Ketamine

    Contemplative Medicine is now offering ketamine treatment for individuals with depression that is not responding to antidepressants or chronic pain.  It may help decrease reliance on opioids.  Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic agent.  We use ketamine in very small doses by way of an orally dissolving troche to treat pain and depression.  It is effective.  We want to make it accessible.  

       The procedure consists of :    

 1. 30 minute paperwork visit with the front desk to get you into computer and get initial paperwork done.      

 2. 45 minute visit with physician to check lab results and do a physical evaluation. 50

 3. 2 hour initiation appointment with physician and nurse to get started on ketamine in a monitored, safe environment.  We'll make sure you are not allergic to it and treat any complications that may arise.  You will need someone to drive you home after this appointment.
