Ketamine and Suboxone

Contemplative Medicine is now offering ketamine treatment for individuals with depression that is not responding to antidepressants or chronic pain.  It may help decrease reliance on opioids.  Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic agent.  We use ketamine in very small doses by way of an orally dissolving troche to treat pain and depression.  It is effective.  We want to make it accessible.

       The procedure consists of :

 1. An initial visit for paperwork, to get you into computer, to educate you about the procedure, and give you prescription orders for labs, ECG, and ketamine troche.  The troche are dissolvable lozenges compounded by Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy.

 2. The second appointment is a 2 hour initiation appointment to get started on ketamine in a monitored, safe environment.  I'll make sure you are not allergic to it and treat any complications that may arise.  You will need someone to drive you home after this appointment.

You can save time by filling out the papwork below.

I no longer prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone) for Alcohol and Opioid Use Disorders.   Please contact the Addictions Center of Broome County (ACBC).
